Death's Head 04:24
Alive or maybe not Do I have to chase you round and round and round and round and round and round... I wanna go, I wanna go, I wanna go It’s up to you, what you do Do you try to run again and burn away another friend Maybe you should try to hide, or maybe find a place to die, or maybe you should just give yourself up I wanna go, I wanna go, I wanna go Not again, another trick? Do you think I’ll fall for that again? And again. Alive? I don’t really care. You’re gonna make me chase you round and round and round and round again There you go, there you go, there you go

Ronin 04:36
Do I want to serve another master? Do I want to serve another home? Should we walk the lonely road together, Or would you rather that we wander alone? You could find another way to ponder All the lessons that you used to own. I don’t know if I could teach another, I don’t know if I can walk alone. Where do I belong? Another path is wrong. My will to fight is strong. I’ll pass this life along. And here our paths will cross again, And maybe we should clash, my friend. Your will is strong, and you will not bend I have no choice but to defend. I close my eyes and so transcend, I bid your soul farewell as you ascend. The years have passed and I think of you. What did I do? I’m such a fool. I gave in to my pride and then I overthrew The only friend I ever knew.

The Clock 04:48
Have you ever seen a clock dripping down off of a rock? Have you ever seen the crown burning down as he drowns? Do you want to take a chance and do nothing but dance? Do you want to see the clock fade, tick tock, tick tock. Now the End is nearer me. And how the End should fear me. As you watch the trees grow, fires grow from below Do you understand the rain as it causes you pain? As you watch the trees fall, fire under it all. As you continue to reign, it will drive you insane. Maybe I should stand up for the truth. And maybe you’ll die as you cover the proof. Another ticking clock breaks away from the block. Another burning clown chases after the crown. Another wasted chance to defend a broken stance. And the clock is getting closer, tick tock, tick tock And now we will face the End that is here. And they should be afraid of the End that is near. As midnight approaches, there is fear in your eyes. And maybe you froze when you told all those lies. Your truth is profane and your life is in vain. The clock trickles closer, tick tock, tick tock And easily I can stand up for what’s right. You stumble and fall, screaming into the night. Have you ever seen a clock dripping down off of a rock? Have you ever seen the crown burning down as he drowns? Do you want to take a chance and do nothing but dance? Do you want to see the clock fade, tick tock, tick tock.

Candy 02:26
You’re soft and lonely Another memory flows by Again I reach out through the sorrow And your taste can mystify I’ll follow you until tomorrow And your dreams will never die You’ll fade and I’ll be hollow And my dreams will amplify

I used to believe in my history Never thought it was much of a mystery And then I watched it unfold right in front of me And now I don’t want to be what I have seen Is there a chance that maybe I got something wrong? Things didn’t appear as if your life didn’t belong I’m not the one who ended up being strong Another mindless crime of the silent throng And here we go again Can I stand between two lines? And watch as history unwinds A life that’s yours is also mine It’s time to let the facts define Another belief that needs to disappear It’s what they believe that causes all the fear There’s nothing above, I know the sky is clear And nothing below, that makes us cavalier I don’t believe in my history I take back my pride, it’s right in front of me Another line to cross takes all my energy I’ll force them down, their inhumanity It’s not too hard to understand We’re back to back and hand in hand It’s time to fight, it’s time to stand And don’t forget where we began Don’t forget about love Don’t forget about freedom Don’t forget about sanctuary Don’t forget about me It’s not your life It’s not my life

Do I give away my chance? Do I give away my pride? How many times do I have to let go? As you spin me ‘round and ‘round, I can feel the undertow. As many times that you try to tie the blindfold, You drop the knife as your fingers get cold. Against the wall, you force me to defend. And another Nine and Twenty are free to ascend. We are not the ones who take the time to compromise, We are not the ones who break the rules and tell the lies. We are not the ones that let the undeserving rule. We are not the ones that gave our souls up to a fool. Should you give away your life? Should you give away your freedom? How many times did you have to say no? Did they give you a choice before you had to let go? As many times that you try to tie the blindfold, You drop the knife as your fingers get cold. Against the wall, you force me to defend. And another Nine and Twenty are free to ascend. And then there were three. And then there were three. We are not the ones who take the time to compromise, We are not the ones who break the rules and tell the lies. We are not the ones that let the undeserving rule. We are not the ones that gave our souls up to a fool.

100 Years 04:19
In a hundred years, will I still have to roam? In a hundred years, will I make it home? Will the roads still be here? Is there anyone left who knows what happened to us? Another day goes by, with an empty sky and a barren dawn. Not a single passerby, it’s a lonely July in this Babylon. In a hundred years from now will it be bizarre if we lived on Mars? In a hundred years from now, will it be worth it to survive on Earth? In a hundred years, will the buildings stand or fall? In a hundred years, a frozen despair. Will the animals survive? Will they thrive and tame the Earth? Will they take it from us? Another day goes by, with an empty sky and a barren dawn. Not a single passerby, it’s a lonely July in this Babylon. In a hundred years from now will it be bizarre if we lived on Mars? In a hundred years from now, will it be worth it to survive on Earth?

Moonrise 06:48
A mountain I can climb at night The Moonrise clears a path A silent cave to my delight Will shade me from Her wrath And here I’ll wait until She’s through And then the hunt begins anew I’ll trace Her line into the sky Another highway to deny And then my shadow will descend And then this broken land will hopefully mend Another night has come and gone The Moonlight shows the way A broken path leads to the dawn And hides another day I hide my eyes when She is near Her savage light will disappear I’ll trace her line into the sky Another warning undefined The land will rise, the heavens fall A darkness overtakes us all We’ll spend it freely in the night And feed the demon’s appetite And here I’ll wait until She’s through And then the hunt begins anew I’ll trace Her line into the sky Another highway to defy And then my shadow will descend And then this broken land will hopefully mend Another angel breaks my fall And takes the heat for heaven’s call A demon tangles with a friend Another angel to defend A child cries out in the night The angel shivers with delight A demon comes to Her defense Another angel on the fence will fade Another day has come and gone The angels kill when we belong They see with eyes that can’t define What life is yours and what is mine The demons rise to save the night They stand up to the fascists and fight I hide my eyes when She is near Her savage light will disappear I’ll trace her line into the sky Another warning undefined A mountain I can climb at night The Moonrise clears a path A silent cave to my delight Will shade me from Her wrath Another night has come and gone The Moonlight shows the way A broken path leads to the dawn And hides another day The land will rise, the heavens fall A darkness overtakes us all We’ll spend it freely in the night And feed the demon’s appetite
9.
Goodbye Earth, what will you do when we are gone? Will you send away all your dreams To the stars? To the Moon? Or Mars? Where will we go? Heaven below us or hell above? Is it a dream to try and save the Earth? Is it a dream or something in between the lies? What will we do? When you are through with all the pain? Can you wash away our memory? Can you wash away all the stains? All the lines? Goodbye Earth, hello stars and worlds beyond. Can we find a place to survive? Can we find a home to sustain our insanity?

about

Volume Two of the 2020 Apocalypse: dystopia, futurism, hope, history, masterless samurai, hysteria, failure, pandemics, candy, death, and bounty hunting. As always, this is for Benjamin and Melissa. But also for Freddy and Anthony and Jon and Neil and Jordan and Eric and Amanda and, well, a lot of folk. Please stay safe out there, in this, our 2020 Apocalypse. I'll probably start writing and recording Volume Three tomorrow.
