Velvet 02:56
Velvet underlining all of my needs Tell me, was it made by machines? Are there little pieces in between the seams? Velvet undermining all of my deeds Tell me, does it have to end with these? Show me samples and let me live my dreams Please Open elevators smoke my cheese Don't you tell me 'bout your disease I know alligators come in twos or threes Velvet hidden in jacaranda trees Voices resonate above the seas I recognize these walls as I'm falling to my knees Please don't take away the one thing that I need Why do I need to touch this to my skin? Do you know the kind of trouble I am in? Where can I go before you take away my dreams? Velvet underlining all of my needs Tell me, was it made by machines? Are there little pieces in between the seams? Velvet undermining all of my deeds Tell me, does it have to end with me? Show me samples and let me live my dreams Please

Step back and scope the scene Living large is super green Tortoise shells and mushrooms reign supreme Have a snack from that machine See the path inside the screen Take a knee and try to face the steam Terminal indulgence undermines the flip Wash your hands before you hose another trip You should see the barrens when you try to skip the Smoke Turn aside or be boxed in A dodgy home can lead to sin Mellow out and see the rest of Berlin You got spammed in Orbital By a snakeboy from Portugal Sent you back to face the Oracle Terminal indulgence undermines the flip Wash your hands before you square another ship Take another dive and try to get a grip Welcome to the barrens, now your shadow's been eclipsed Blend in and hide your run Most sins are not this fun Avoid the blood and you should see the Sunrise Terminal indulgence undermines the flip Wash your hands before you square another ship Take another dive and try to get a grip Welcome to the barrens, now your shadow's been eclipsed

A mountain full of gold won't make me chase your dreams I can stay ahead of everything, but not the rocks and streams There's nothing in your story about the state of the trees There's nothing to remind me about the boiling seas The Sun invades the sky and changes every day The Moon is just a rock in space But still affects the tides A pocketful of hope won't save the world today I'm not sure we can tun it back- the path we have to take There's nothing in the stories about a dying world There's nothing to reverse this track, so now we look ahead The Sun invades the sky- it changes everything The Moon is just a rock in space But still affects the tides

Me Against This Lonesome Trail Trail, please don’t lead me on, I need her memory gone Moon, go away and hide, don’t shine on me as I ride She broke this heart of mine, never even gave a sign Love’s gonna fail when it’s me against this lonesome trail It’s me against this lonesome trail, and love’s gonna fail She’s in every canyon shadow, every wide meadow The tears I cry for her won’t dry, they all tell a tale When it’s me against this lonesome trail (Instrumental) Trail, where is your long end, how did this long ride begin Stars, please don’t shine tonight, this trail’s end is not in sight This cowboy’s heart might fail, her love was to no avail Love’s gonna fail when it’s me against this lonesome trail It’s me against this lonesome trail, and love’s gonna fail She’s in every canyon shadow, every wide meadow The tears I cry for her won’t dry, they all tell a tale When it’s me against this lonesome trail When it’s me against this lonesome trail

My sister and I can never agree What's outside the wall? Are we safe or free? Are there hordes of unwanted? Are there miles of sand? Are the vestibules haunted? Should we just ask the band? My sister and I spend our days bored to death There's nothing so daunting as a breath of fresh air If we try to run our families will pay If we stay in this prison, then we'll fade away Are there hordes of unwanted? Are there miles of sand? Are the vestibules haunted? Should we just ask the band?

A curious thing, to fall between The cracks of the modern world The stories above and the songs below Never seem to line up It’s a terrible thing to live inside The walls of a burning house And in between the fire trucks Water begins to pool And so it goes A curious thing to disconnect From the rules of the modern world The people above and the people below Never seem to live up to the promises They make and the favors the expect It’s a dangerous thing to try and live With the tools of the modern world The games they play change everyday And favor the rich And so it goes It’s a delicate thing to live between The past and the modern world The people before and never had a clue How the world would change Sometimes for the worse, and Sometimes things got better It's a curious thing, to fall between The cracks of the modern world The stories above and the songs below Never seem to line up

Cowboy Music’s Come And Gone They say that cowboy music’s come and gone It’s no longer sung on the silver screen They say that cowboy music’s come and gone Ain’t too many heard on the western scene Now what’s a cowboy like me gonna do If good old cowboy music’s come and gone What in the world is this world comin’ to If it ain’t got cowboys with western songs (instrumental) Well, one day I was ridin’ through the draw When I saw a lone cowboy far away Singin’ ’bout it bein’ against the law For cowboy music treated that-a-way Now what’s a cowboy like me gonna do If good old cowboy music’s come and gone What in the world is this world comin’ to If it ain’t got cowboys with western songs

Upside Down 03:39
What does it mean to live upside down? How do we give directions? Which way is up and which way out? Please show me how to begin There are no walls to guide me in Is this how I've always been? What does it mean to change my mind? How do I stay informed? Which way is right? And what is wrong with learning as I go? There are no walls to help me out There are no secrets to tell A problem here can save the world Is this how I've always been? Don't look now, it' not the time to change It's better here than somewhere else Turn around and face the flames It doesn't matter when you began to wonder about your world How does it feel to live upside down? You don't need directions There is no up, there is no out There is no beginning or end There are no walls to guide you in Is this where you've always been? A problem here can change the world Is this what we've alway's been?

When I was young, I thought I knew everything that happened And it was true But now that I'm older, nothing came true Where are my senses to change my views? I'm old enough to know that what I understand Is nothing compared to what I don't I'm old enough to feel afraid Everything is changing Even the stars will try something new I make broken promises, and I keep them, too I see that you're hurting- what can I do, for you? I'm old enough to know that what I understand Is nothing compared to what I don't I'm old enough to feel afraid for you I don't know what tomorrow will bring, do you? I don't care what tomorrow brings, do you? When I was here before Did you notice that I was wrong? I want you to listen to every word Before you miss them- before I'm gone

Sucker Punch 03:05
Sucker punch, tomorrow never knows I need to stop this ghost or leave Where is my mind? You haunt me So unkind- you hit me Left behind for good I want to take it back, before I go to sleep I have to change this pact for me Open up, I need to open up I need to stop this ghost and leave And when I want to run, I want to run into the sea And then I want to run home And when I want to burn, I'll run into your open arms And then I'll know I am alone I want it all, I need to take this fall So you can face this army of me Love is a drug, I need to cut this rug So I can end your divinity And when I want to run, I want to run into the sea And then I want to run home And when I want to burn, I'll run into your open arms And then I'll know I am alone Sucker punch, tomorrow never knows I need to stop this ghost and leave

about

50/90 3...

Thanks a lot, Anthony Kapfer, who introduced me to FAWM (February Album Writing Month), introduced me to 50/90!

Same concept, different numbers and months. Try to write 50 songs in 90 days. From July 4 to October 1. He told me on July 8. 86 days...

I love the idea. I love the challenge. I love the people on FAWM (and 50/90). It's a global music family. Thank you again, Anthony!

Every day I would go down to the Dungeons and grab an instrument, play something, and write a song.

This is volume three of the 50/90 songs. A little psychedelic folk and punk mixed with cowboy music and chamber pop, with hints of jazz and cyberpunk. Simpler times for a simple lad like me.

For Benjamin, and for Melissa.
