Salvation 04:28
If this heat doesn't kill you, I probably will You don't know the spaces I've lived in between And you never will If you think it's hot now, just wait until I've had my fill If you could see your face now, you'd probably lay still Don't misunderstand, this isn't for me I'm doing this for you I can save you from yourself and save the rest of the world This avalanche of faith consumes your minds If I stop the world from turning, I can save you every time If this heat doesn't kill you, then I probably will You don't know the places I've been Because there's nothing to see

Thursdays 03:41
Again, I know what I achieved I saw it with my eyes I touched it with my hands I know what I believe They took me to the stars, we sped across the Moon We had a break on Mars on a summer afternoon I watched them from afar, from a flashy steel cocoon And they played their space guitars, In a Martian-made commune Today, I made my way home With a pocket full of gold And I don’t know what to do With this little purple stone I think it calls them back from the other side of space Or is it just a snack inside a pretty case? But I don’t want to destroy the only evidence Of my trek across the stars and my Martian conference My friends are waiting to return To show me other sides And give me other gifts To save me from the Burn They took me from the stars and planted me on Earth To share my lucky charms, to teach them the absurd And learn another song, so I can sing along To prove that I am strong, to prove that I belong To prove that I belong

Energy equals mass times the speed of light squared Force equals mass times acceleration Orbiting Prometheus, a revolutionary scanner of time Switches slip, electrons flip Projecting a particle beam to Earth A wall of shimmering, white energy Flash: an era of this Earth's past 65 Million years gone Crash: awry scanner, time tilter Hello Devonian period through the late Cretaceous Tyrannosaurus Rex has big and pointy teeth They are coming to eat us Enter antagonist, savagely swept through a portal ripped in time Into the 20th century The roar of a prehistoric monster sets the world to tremble Cities set ablaze, their populations consumed Triceratops, with spiky horns, are coming to save us Orbiting Prometheus, feverishly fret An attempt to correct a cataclysmic mistake Triggers trip, neutrons zip, and there is a sudden yank in space That shreds reptilian invaders into bloodied pulp and bone After unprecedented loss and mass destruction Our civilization rebuilds Again, and again

Pools 08:22
This crystal cavern shades me from the Sun The day is long and here I am with nowhere else to run The water fills in tiny pools where life has just begun The chlorophyll is building up The light begin to pulse Generations pass and I linger just to see The kind of life that passes slowly, changing by degrees When life begins, life begins to change Tilting like a junkie bathing in the rain Overtaking everything that's standing in the way The flood is overwhelming Exponential decay This hovel used to be a home Filled with tears and laughter I don't know what became of them or the beasts that followed after There used to be a library and an avenue of trees But now there's only ashes drifting in the breeze And so the cycle ends its turn and starts again The chlorophyll is building up The lights are turned to ten Generations pass and I linger just to see Any kind of life that grows, changing by degrees

My life is hanging in the balance My tribe is wading through the tides And though I'm living in the moment I can't push the past aside The time may come where we decide To take the branches into the Great Divide The path ahead is filled with fear The changes force us into a new frontier Where nothing stays in place And nothing ever moves the gears Year after year Until it all just disappears And then the ghosts appear The time has come where we decide To take the branches into the Great Divide Our lives are hanging in the balance Our tribe is changing all the time And though we're living the moment Please don't push the past aside

When do I begin to understand The elemental forces that guide my hands? When do I begin to turn the tide? It doesn’t make sense for me to choose a side It doesn’t make sense for me to run and hide So when do I begin to understand? When do I begin to understand? It doesn’t make sense for me to choose a side It doesn’t make sense for me to run and hide So when do I begin to understand? When do I begin to understand? When do I begin to understand?

You are not immune You'll find another tune To keep you up at night And when you turn around To face the battleground Remember to hide your face When you leave, don't forget your keys The locks are changed when you are asleep And when you leave, the memories are free To turn into another distant dream Don't follow me too soon I'm lost inside the Moon And the stars are really bright And if you run aground Just listen for the sound Of fireflies in outer space When you leave, don't forget your keys The locks are changed when you are asleep And when you leave, the memories are free To turn into another distant dream of me

The Last Two 04:40
Have you ever seen a Sunrise that didn’t give you hope? Did you ever take the train to Timbuktu? There is nothing left to do but stand in wonder There is nothing left but the final rendezvous Should we raise a glass to all of those who came before us? Should we take the time to celebrate the fools? If we wait a moment longer, will it matter? Are there moments left for us, the final two?

about

Deus Fawmrokkis.

Again, Anthony Kapfer, who introduced me to FAWM (February Album Writing Month), introduced me to 50/90. Same concept, different numbers and months. Try to write 50 songs in 90 days. From July 4 to October 1. He told me on July 8. 86 days...

I love the idea. I love the challenge. I love the people on FAWM (and 50/90). It's a global music family. Thank you again, Anthony!

Every day I would go down to the Dungeons and grab an instrument, play something, and write a song.

This is volume two of the 50/90 songs. Slow it up. Drone it out. Find a sloth. Get a little messy and confused. No beginning and no end, just stuff. Beware the bright lights in the sky.

For Benjamin, and for Melissa.
