about

The first song (music and lyrics) I ever wrote. January 11, 1987. Pretty sure I wrote this on piano, as I did not buy a guitar to learn to play until April 2, 1987- my 18th birthday. There is a lot of religious and spiritual imagery in these early songs, as I was just getting away from the religion I was raised in. Spiritual is a good thing. Religion is politics. They are not the same.

lyrics

In a world of pain and torment. In a land where love is fake.
People dream of new things heaven sent. Living lives of give and take.

We move on for the higher goal, never let the world have control.
Truth of truths, always in the end, has the victory to make us see

It's the dream of the final escape, in this world of envy and hate.
Is there hope? Broken hearts will mend. Can we make it in the end.

In today's guiltless society, where our shame is nothing less
Than men and women's empty vanity, and all life is deemed much less.

We move on for the higher goal, never let the world have control.
Pursuing dreams that will help us win. When live here ends, new life begins.
