about

Written by Leo and I on March 25, 1989 (same day as Let Love Shine- I honestly don't remember which one was written first). I know Leo played the guitar originally. And there was a drum machine (probably the Oberheim DMX). Pretty sure I played bass originally, and definitely the synth/organ part. There was no harmonica on the original. Otherwise, this one is pretty close to the original.

A song about dreams and visions and nightmares, inspiration, society, teaching gods a lesson, the apocalypse, and love. Because, why not?

lyrics

I heard the cry of a hundred lost souls
In the night where my heart fears to go
I have seen the demise of many a man
From the knife that they held in their hands
Let them out, let them go, don't let your own die
Never stop, you never taught them how to fly
Dream a dream in he night, for the rest of your time
Dream a dream, think a thought, take not mine

Oh, how I help the Sun to rise in the East
In the West I beckon to the night
How my heart longs for you, in continual beat
Close my eyes and all I see is your light

I saw the death of a world in the midst of full life
I saw it form from the ashes it became
I heard the cries of the children
In the darkness of night
I close my eyes
And I die from all my shame
Let them out, let them go, don't let your own die
Give their life more chance than you try
Dream a dream for your life, never let the hope die
Dream a dream, think a thought, dream a dream
