Archive song #13. Lucky 13! Weird 13. The original song was written by me, starting on April 4, 1988 (the opening section and closing section), and completed on June 5, 1988 (middle section). The original track is a noisy mess consisting of two distorted electric guitars with heavy delay and reverbs, a heavily modulated (and nasal) vocal, and a backwards solo/riff guitar track. I made it a little more trippy this time.

lyrics

The corridors that run through your brain
Are the empty halls that drive you insane
You wonder what keeps you up at night
Could it be all the loneliness inside?

Is it a thought, or could it really happen here?
Does the pain from the past linger, or just disappear?
Can't tell how to climb with all this dust in my eyes
Is it a rock or a mountain, or humility in disguise?
Firefights all around, I'm wounded but I can't tell where
Is it hope from heaven, or hell sending despair?
Screams from a distant land from somewhere inside
Do we hold on to hop, or keep our fears alive?

The doors to your heart are always locked
The walkways through your soul are always blocked
Only a lingering hope remains
Surrounded by the walls that your sorrow has stained
