about

Archive song #11! Written by me on April 4, 1988. One of three songs I wrote that day. Up to this point, all the original versions of the songs with drums were performed by drum machines. This one was a Roland R-8 (originally). I also remember synths and an organ. So, there's that. The groove and feel is near the original. Maybe not the instrumentation...

lyrics

This is not about me or you
This is about what we've got to do
But it doesn't matte who you believe
And it doesn't matter who stays or leaves
Now if the choice were up to me
I know that I would set you free
If you could only see my heart
I've cared for you right from the start

Here lies the tomb of peace and joy
Obstructed hopes and broken toys
And still a life goes on
Waiting, hoping, on and on

Hear me, hear me, please listen to me
Someday I hope that you will see
How much I really care for you
I only wish you were here with me
Love will find a way in time
Hope for you and hope is mine
And still a hopeless case goes on and on
