about

Written by me on January 13, 1988. 1988!!! Hazah! Contrary to what you've been told, this is not a rebel song, this song is Sunday,... no. Despite the fact that some people think that there is religious imagery in this song, there is none. This song is about the ultimate sacrifice by the most heroic of beings: Optimus Prime. (I had just watched Transformers: The Movie in the wee hours of the morning, and it was on my brain). Still one of my CHEESY (mmm... Cheesus!) and favorite songs. This one I pretend I was playing live in NYC! (watch the video and you'll see...)

lyrics

You stood up for what was right, you stood up for us all
You always stood up in a fight, you always to the fall
We never appreciate the pain that you bore
We never even gave our thanks when you fell before

To catch- to catch a lightwave
To catch a lightwave from above
To catch- to catch a lightwave
Understand the meaning of true love

We try to fight and stand alone
We fail in utter shame
Without you help we die alone
We never called your name
I hope you'll come to my rescue one more time
I hope you never wait for what I have in mind
