Walking backwards to my mother's
I notice problems with the others
Their eyes are red, their noses bleeding
They're chasing people and they're feeding
Where did they get the infection?
From a lab or natural selection?
Does it matter? I don't think so
So walking backwards to mom's I go

And if I make it there, I hope that she will feed me
Cake or past, cheese or tuna, it doesn't really matter to me

Watching tele with my mother
Buildings burn and people suffer
The world is crumbling into pieces
I hope it's over by the weekend
My mom is nervous and she tells me to pack a bag
And I should hurry
The noises scratching at the front door
Are probably something I shouldn't ignore

And if we make it out, I wonder where we'll go
To my dad's, or maybe brother's?
It doesn't really matter to me

Walking backwards through the forest
I think about the zombie chorus
I think about my mom and brother
I think about my absent father
I know I shouldn't say the "Z" word
But all the other words are just absurd
But still, I just keep walking backwards
Surrounded by a swarm of black birds

And if I make it home, I wonder what's on the tele
Maybe "Cheers" or Donald Glover
It doesn't really matter to me
